A Little Shopping Trip....

I travelled to Dubbo last night (half an hour from Narromine) with three friends, the Fabric Shop in Dubbo was having a Leap Year Sale on the Friday, Jean the owner gave me a call on Tuesday and told me about her sale and offered to open up on Thursday Night if any of our 'Club Quilt' ladies wanted to come down, knowing that a lot of us work, it was very generous offer, and of course we couldn't knock back an offer like that...LOL...I forced myself to make some purchases ...LOL...I have seen but never used a 'Design Layout Sheet'...Jean had one there and showed us how it worked..well I just had to have one of those and I convinced my friend Dale from Day-days blog she also needed one (we also purchased one for our group)...and there was this little 'Singer Sewing Machine Tin' that was saying take me home..take me home...so I did....and a few more babies are happening with friends so I thought I could use these pink and blue fabrics...now you must remember these were all on sale....Peg ... :>) ...

A long way to go

Another two more blocks done for "Ruth's Quilt" I think that might leave me 29 to do.....I must admitt I am enjoying doing these, they are nice and quick....We are having some beautiful rain here today, which was something we have all been waiting for....great for our farmers...as well our our lawns and gardens

Libby and her ironing boards....

Libby has thrown up a little game in honor of Sadie Hawkins Day and it being a Leap year.
She is curious about our ironing boards. If you post a picture of your ironing board on your blog and comment on her blog, you may win a prize....
My ironing board could do with a new cover and I think this time I should buy one that fits, it was long enough but not wide enough.....

Not too many more now!!!!

Can you believe it after this quilt I only have two more finished tops to show....made this a few years back...not sure if the pattern has a name...I should finish this for one of my nieces...I actually have one who has a birthday today, she is 30, but she really wants to stay 29 it sounds better.....

Round Robin

This is my completed stitchery, I still need to put a border on, of my first block of our "Club Quilt" Round Robin/Log Cabin which starts in a couple of weeks...I am going to include the fabric in my bag, for anyone to use if they wish....the fabric was a gift from my very dear friend Dale from Day-days blog, she bought it back from America when she went a few years ago...

Our Ollie...

This is my poor little Ollie - 6 months old he is a Spoodle...(cross between a poodle and cocker spaniel, they call them a designer dog)..well Ollie was bitten by a bee this morning the vets in Narromine weren't open so we rang the Dubbo vet (half an hour away) and they said to bring him in to have an injection...our little man does not cope well at the vets, he does a lot of crying..he is a bit of a spoilt baby.....anyway he was given the injection and he nearly fainted, his little legs gave way, he lost all colour in his lips, the vet was most concerned....he finally came good, lots of crying by this stage....but during this drama we also found out that our Ollie has a heart murmur....the first photo is of our little man as soon as he got home...so exhausted he was.....the second one was after his mummy and daddy gave him lots of hugs and a chicken dinner, but he was still feeling very sad....

Help please!!!!!

I started these stitcheries a while ago..."Candlelight Creations"...9 blocks in the quilt, and I think the quilt was called "Beyond the Garden Gate", it was a block of the month done with Honeysuckle Cottage....I am not keen to actually do it as a quilt any more, I love the stitchereis but not that keen on the quilt design.. so I was thinking that I might just turn these 4 blocks into a wall hanging...has any one any other ideas of what to do with these four blocks, would love to hear what you think????....

My blast from the past....

Chookyblue had a bit of a blast from the past....she was bringing out some sewing projects she had done back at school, I think hers was more in primary school, well look what I found, I made this pitiful little baby outfit in 1st Form (Year 7) aged 12.....(no never used it for my boys) I think ribbon was to be threaded thru the top seam, check out the sleeves.....I am hoping I have improved a little bit.....thanks Chookyblue.......

New project...

Finished......

Well this little girl is now framed...once again family effort ..fence palings, old weathered ones are great for making frames....not easy to come by though, but these have come up quite well.

Bea from Capricorn Quilts is running a BOM....this is the first of the blocks.... the January stitchery....I have decided to do all my stitcheries in different coloured brown threads....and then I was thinking of just putting a border around each stitchery in a different fabric, thought a jelly roll may be the way to go...depending on the size might even put a couple of borders...just toying with the idea so far.
